1. INTRODUCTION.
iALA Educate & Stilbaai Cycling presents the annual WINDPOMP MTB & GRAVEL BIKE Event at STABLES on 23 December 2023. This event format of cycling along the Goukou river and via the Droëe vlakte is a weekly routine for most of the Stilbaai Cyclists. We want to share this great ride with our visitors in a race format.
The WINDPOMP MTB event started in the years when we were very much aware of the droughts in the Southern Cape. Windpomp Sjerrie refers to water.
2. RACE VILLAGE.
As always, next to Stables, Stilbaai. 10km and 60km event start and ends at the race village.

4. CATEGORIES & TIME KEEPING
The discipline of long distance Mountain Biking (XCM), is a well known discipline. The Western Cape Province has confirmed the need for Gravel Bike events so we include this event format into the Windpomp event also. The 60km route will include gravel, a small section of tar, 200 meters if sand and 3km of single track.
GREAT TIME (Grevile & Sharon Radock) will once again support us with timing and race results.
5. PRIZE GIVING and SPOT PRIZES
Prize giving is at 11H00 at the race village. We will spoil you with a great X-Mas gift for winning and competing in this year’s Windpomp Event. There must be 5 and or more entries per category to offer cash prizes per category.
